Zappi works like any regular charging point, but it has special eco charging modes which benefit homeowners with grid-tied microgeneration systems.

The ECO+ charging mode automatically adjusts the charging rate to only make use of surplus power that would otherwise be exported from the property — which means charging your car has the potential to be totally free.

When you're in a hurry

FAST mode when you need it

Not every journey waits for the sun. In FAST charge mode the unit behaves like an ordinary EV charging station, drawing from the grid to get you back on the road.

Dynamic load balancing means the charger works around whatever else the house is using, so in most cases there's no need to upgrade your incoming supply.

Why it matters Exported power earns you a fraction of what you pay to import it. Put it in the car instead and it's worth the full import price.
